Arnold Iger

IgerA lifelong exposure to art and the love of art is expressed in the artistic efforts of Arnold Iger.  A native of New York, a large portion of his childhood was spent in visiting museums and galleries in and around New York.  This interest later encouraged him to pursue the talents he possessed, which brought him to the status of professional artist.

During the Vietnam Era he served in the US Air Force.  After discharge, he settled in San Francisco, where he studied at the Academy of Art as well as the Art Institute. While attending the art schools, he also worked in advertising design and as an illustrator.  It was at this juncture that he began his first etchings.  In seeking more knowledge of print making, he traveled to Paris and studied at Stanley Hayter’s Atelier 17.  Mr. Hayter is well known for his viscosity printing techniques, for which he became renowned as the “Father of Print Making.”

After studies and travels to Spain and North Africa, Arnold returned to San Francisco and began working exclusively on floral etchings.  Other than travel and printmaking, Arnold has been active in creating one-of-a-kind books, sculpting, painting, and founding “Persona Grata Productions,” an avant-garde theatre group.
